11 - The Courage To Say What Needs To Be Said

The Courage To Say What Needs To Be Said

By Aidan Hellrigel

Today, I posted a podcast that went over the movie “Interstate 60”. In
my breakdown of the film, I touched topics and ideas that would usually
be considered controversial. The Truth can often be dark, disturbing,
and discouraging.

The fear of what needs to be said, to express my feelings on different
topics is my God given right. No one can tell me what I can or can’t
say. If someone is upset about what I say, they can turn off my podcast.

Often times, liars and cheats will speak online and they wouldn’t
receive criticism due, to the fact, they are telling people what they
want to hear. Well, people don’t want to hear that we are living under
tyranny. If I am unable to express that fact, then the tyranny will
continue. When I tell myself, “What will [insert name here], think of
me if they read this blog, watched this video, or listened to this
podcast” I am really telling myself “Don’t post your opinion, it is
wrong”. In a way, it can be seen as a form of cognitive dissonance. On
one hand, I want to post the Truth about our times, and express what I
have come to know thus far. On the other, I am saying that I am fearful
of what others may think of me.

That fear, is all an illusion. It would be important to feel that
illusion. To fully understand, that it is an illusion. Once I am able to
start taking action, and putting the message out there, I am sure that
their will be people who would disagree, or even be offended. This is
the nature of reality. No one is going to collectively agree what I say
to be true, even if it is factually true. People are at such a high
level of social conditioning and programming that it shouldn’t even be
something I am upset about.

I understand that I have faults. I am not the best at socializing,
exercising, or producing money financially. I am an academic in the
sense, that I enjoy researching topics which ordinarily would be
discredited. My value is derived from a force that is beyond the
ordinary markers society uses for value.

A Quick Action Step:

Go out into the world, and start to play word association games with
people. I would imagine most would say “Value” = “Money”. When I did
this, some people actually said that “Value” meant “Human Life” which
was an encouraging thought to hear. On the other hand, I have also tried
the word “Love” and someone associated that word with “Hate” so still
much progress to go.

Super excited to get my courage up so that I am able to express myself
in the best way I know how.

Love,

Aidan Hellrigel

“With great power, comes great responsibility”

10 - Exploring The Balance of Life

Exploring the Balance of Life: Vital Units and the Path to Inner Harmony

By Aidan Hellrigel

Over the past year, I’ve immersed myself in researching various unconventional yet essential topics subjects rarely discussed around the dinner table, but deeply relevant for personal growth and understanding the world.

In March, I began reading The Stellar Man by John Baines, a book that explores how individuals can rise above their base instincts and evolve into what Baines calls the “Stellar Man.” A key concept in the book is the idea of Vital Units, which represent the energies we expend throughout the day across different facets of life.

Around the same time, I came across the work of Stuart Wilde, who also discusses a framework resembling Vital Units. In his book Life Wasn’t Meant to Be a Struggle, Wilde identifies ten core aspects of life that must be brought into balance to avoid unnecessary suffering:

Physical Body

Emotional Balance

Relationships

Living Situation

Finances

Attitude

Conflict

Stress

Psychological State

Spiritual Balance

Meanwhile, Baines presents his own set of Vital Units:

Riches

Power

Moral Nobility

Love

Intelligence

Health

Happiness

Though the terminology differs, the underlying principle is the same: imbalance in any area leads to struggle. For instance, someone may possess great financial wealth yet lack moral integrity or inner joy. Baines emphasizes the importance of distributing our Vital Units evenly to live a fuller, more integrated life.

What’s fascinating is how these two authors approach similar truths from different angles. Wilde’s list is more concrete and practical almost diagnostic while Baines offers a more abstract and philosophical lens. This duality is useful: Wilde helps us identify specific areas to work on, while Baines invites us to reflect more deeply on the meaning of qualities like Power, Love, or Moral Nobility.

Correspondence Table

Stuart Wilde

John Baines

Physical Body

Health

Emotional Balance

Moral Nobility, Happiness

Relationships

Love

Living Situation

Health

Finances

Riches

Attitude

Happiness, Love

Conflict

Power

Stress

Power

Psychological State

Health, Happiness, Intelligence

Spiritual Balance

Moral Nobility

This comparison reveals how struggle often arises when certain energies like conflict or stress are overemphasized while others like spiritual or emotional balance are neglected.

I’ve noticed this personally. Much of my energy has gone toward managing conflict and stress, often at the expense of nurturing peace and balance.

Ultimately, both authors encourage a journey of self-examination. Take time to reflect on how your own energy is distributed across these areas. How do these concepts show up in your life? What might need rebalancing?

Struggle isn’t necessarily a sign that something is wrong it may just be a signal that something is out of alignment.

“There are only two mistakes on the path to truth: not starting, and not going all the way.”

09 - Sexual Reproductive Messaging In The Music Industry

Musical Reproductive Messaging

Our music selection is determined by various factors. There is no bigger factor than sexuality. Dawn R. Hobbs and Gordon G. Gallup Jr. are evolutionary psychologists. In 2011, they decided to research the topic of reproductive messaging in music. They found that on average 92% of the 174 songs that made it to the top ten in 2009 contained one or more reproductive messages.

While these themes are quite taboo to discuss, they are powerful to know about. Once we are able to understand the reasons we desire relationship, we are able to decide if the relationship is worth pursuing. In addition, it adds the ability to process the type of music we listen to.

The 18 Reproductive Themes

Genitalia

Other Body Parts

Courtship/Long-Term Relationships

Hook Up/Short-Term Relationships

Foreplay/Arousal/Sex Act Precursors

Sex Act

Sexual Prowess

Promiscuity/Reputation/Derogation

Sequestering/Mate Guarding

Fidelity Assurance/Abandonment Prevention

Commitment and Fidelity

Resources

Status

Mate Provisioning

Appearance Enhancement/Sex Appeal

Rejection

Infidelity/Cheater Detection/Mate Poaching

Parenting

Other

This study draws direct parallels to different types, phases, and stages in relationships. The reproductive messaging in music allows for a person to connect with certain songs. Often times, these messages are subliminal. Only once we are aware of the sexual messages are we able to determine whether or not those messages are the messages we want to hear.

Certain times in my life, I listened to hip-hop and rap. To be completely honestly, most hip-hop and rap degrades women. It treats women as an object and drug to be pursued and conquered. While some evolutionary biologists would state that this is the “normal” relationship between woman and man in terms of evolution, I firmly know now that we have actually evolved past that way of being, and we have the ability to have more conscious and firmer consensual relationships. Once I started to pick up on the defluence it had on my life, I decided to step away from certain artists, like Lil Uzi Vert.

It is perfectly okay to express sexuality in music. As long as adults are consenting there is nothing wrong with having a sexual relationship. I have a problem with people violating others rights and autonomy. Much of hip-hop and rap today pushes boundaries which shouldn’t be broken. In another article, we can dive into this further.

I would recommend everyone to become aware to the music they listen to. It may have a greater impact on your life than you may think. Not just when it comes to reproductive signaling either. Songs often provide great influences or great destructive qualities depending on the message.

Remember, there is only two mistakes one can make on the path to truth. Not starting, and not going all the way.

Best,

08 - Implications of Dunkin' Donuts Ice Spice Drink

Implications of Dunkin' Donuts Ice Spice Drink

Today we will be talking about a plot. A plot that has been fallen by the way side due to mass hypnosis and indoctrination from a very young age. Something that seems absolutely hysterical to the untrained mind.

A plot the company Dunkin' Donuts, Ice Spice, and yes, even Ben Affleck are in on.

“What consumerism really is, at its worst is getting people to buy things that don’t actually improve their lives.” - Jeff Bezos

It all started back in 1948 when Dunkin' Donuts opened under the name “Open Kettle” by founder Bill Rosenberg in Quincy Massachusetts.

Rosenberg conceived the idea after having noticed that construction workers loved coffee and doughnuts, and decided to move forward in 1950 with the name Dunkin' Donuts.

This name change was the first step of many to social engineer the masses into falling in love with the idea of doughnuts and coffee.

Fast Forward to late 2023 and Dunkin' Donuts has re-branded themselves as “Dunkin'” focusing more of their effort and energy into beverages, preparing them for one of the most ubiquitous campaigns of all time,

What is the Ice Spice drink you may ask? It is a frozen beverage with pumpkin “spice"flavored doughnut holes known as “munchkins”.

Dunkin' is using Ice Spice’s song “Munch” to promote the Munchkins brand. Ice Spice is okay with this because she is most likely getting paid to do this collaboration.

When Ice Spice fans listen to the song “Munch” now, they will associate the song with Dunkin' Donuts and Munchkins.

Let’s say you are an avid listener of Ice Spice’s music. You are headed on your way to work, and “Munch” comes on in rotation. You had no prior plans to purchase Dunkin' today, but as soon as that song begins to play, the prior programmed response will lead you to Dunkin' subconsciously.

Arguments will be made that this isn’t the case. That the person purchasing Dunkin' made that decision based upon there free-will.

My argument is that this does in fact happen. Not just in the case of Dunkin' and Ice Spice. That is just an example from many.

How about Ice Spice’s cursing? In reality, the people who do not curse, listen to music without curse words. The people who curse, listen to explicit music more often than not.

This is a common tactic made by music artists in the modern day. Different artists make “cultural” references to ensnare listeners. Quite frequently, these references are none other than advertisements.

The advertisements in these cases actually help the artists more than the company.

Lil Uzi Vert talks about Honda Accords in his work. I drive a Honda Accord, thus I bond with this rapper on a deeper level.

“We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested” - Edward Bernays

We can’t ignore causal factors. I recognize this within my psychology as when I listened to Lil Uzi Vert talk about Honda Accords, I found myself enjoying his music more.

Back to Dunkin'. When I was growing up, my family would bring munchkins to our swim meets. This is an example of the conditioning associated spending a good quality family time with eating Munchkins from Dunkin'. This held with me as just a few months ago I brought munchkins to a ski-trip hangout with friends.

Now, if the going gets tough or I am down on my luck, I can go to good old munchkin paradise, which will invoke those past feelings when I was spending time with family and friends.

The point is, companies and rappers exploit this part of our psychology. They will associate their brand with as many things the average American consumes, buys and supports.

The Solution:

The solution to this part is twofold. First, people must strip away as much advertising from there lives as possible. The social engineers of our society spend billions of dollars to make certain that you purchase certain goods and products. Along with that, these controllers are able to influence the way you think in other ways too. It isn’t just advertising which stands in your way, it is the news media, influencers and algorithms, streaming services and movies. The conceptual questions that should be asked are: why does a movie have certain themes? How could it apply to our own lives? What is this person trying to tell me? Is this a moral action? Is this person truly good? Instead of just enjoying a movie for comfort.

Once you become aware of how often you are advertised to, you won’t be able to stop the realization. It’s everywhere. It isn’t as simple as putting ad blocker on a computer. That is a great first step, and I would highly recommend that anyone watching use brave desktop browser. But, advertisements are plastered all over the road, embedded in movies, attached to the products you use. Take a moment and pause the video. I 100% guarantee you could find a brand within your eyesight.

Ultimately, it is up to you in the end to decide the future you want for yourself. Do you want to submit to the influence of others, or do you want to lead your own influence. The choice is yours.

07 - The Importance Of Morality And Consent

What Is Morality?

Morality is the difference between what is right and what is wrong. We
often hear this statement, but do we actively practice it throughout our
own lives? I would say no. I would say the vast majority of people
living today violate others rights. Here is a simple example of what I
am talking about. I love to take photos. Preserving memories is
important to me. Sometimes, I will take photos of people candidly.
Sometimes people don’t like cameras taking photos of them, and may
either feel uncomfortable or speak out against having a photo taken of
them. The right thing to do is to ask; earlier at the gathering perhaps,
if it is okay to take a candid. Unfortunately, this is a lesson I am
still learning. Constantly, I am finding myself in situations where I
forgot to ask if it is possible to take photos of other people, and it
is immoral to do so without permission. If I don’t receive consent prior
to a photo being taken, I have committed an immoral act.

This brings me to the phenomena of pressuring one to do something. This
is called coercion. Yet quite frequently, we find ourselves saying “no”
to a request and the response is often “Why?” or “Come On”. While
partaking in activities certain may be good for someone or benefit them,
it still isn’t okay to inhibit ones autonomy. In the mainstream, the
topic of consent is often discussed in reference to sexuality. When
someone does not consent to a sexual act, it is considered rape. My
attempt here is to demonstrate that if we fail to understand consent
outside of sexuality, we will fail to understand consent within
sexuality. Represented as the consent of “So above, so below”. This is
not the slippery slope fallacy, as I am not claiming that an individual
who doesn’t ask for consent when he takes photos of someone equals that
later down the line he will rape someone, no. It is the generalized
misunderstanding of consent will lead to a misunderstanding of consent
when it comes to sexuality and lead to rape. One of the causal factors
when it comes to rape, is the inability for one to have principles. The
topic of consent must be discussed outside of sexual relations, as
consent is involves with every human social interaction. It is
intertwined. It is impossible to have a moral, healthy relationship with
someone unless that relationship is full of consent. This applies to
every form of relationship. Familial bonds, friendships, workmates,
classmates etc. Once consent is understood fully, by the majority of the
population, it will prevent the most grievous acts, like rape.

We should start to collectively remember where our rights begin and end.
We have to right to do whatever we want as long is it does not harm
another.

Remember, there are only two mistakes one can make on the path to truth;
not starting and not going all the way.

06 - The 5 Basic Disciplines Of Hermetic Initiation

What is Hermetic Initiation?

Over the past week, I have been reading the book “The Stellar Man” By
Barnes. This book goes into how the human race is in a state of
somnambulism. The book talks about how the majority of the human race
behaves like animals, and delves into the steps one can take to become
the “stellar man”.

From my perspective, the hermetic initiation would be steps that one
should take towards becoming the “stellar man”.

The Five Basic Disciplines

1. To stop lying.

If we lie to others, we lie to ourselves. This goes for basic lying,
such as telling someone something that isn’t true to deceive them. There
are also alternatives of lying, such as lying unknowingly. In this case,
one would lie because they didn’t realize that what they were telling
was a lie. This could be described as “false teaching. Last but not
least, lying could take the form of the “white lie”. An abstract example
of this was last weekend when I was showing my friend around my
hometown. I was giving him a tour and I made up false stories about the
town as a joke. It was obvious that I was lying, but it demonstrated the
level of fantasy I live in my life, which brings us to the next
discipline.

2. To stop dreaming.

When the author describes “dreaming” they are talking about dreaming in
the form of living in illusion. If one mistakes reality for something
that it is not, they are dreaming, Similar to a solipistic view, where
one believes that they are the only thing that exists in the universe,
and where one falsely believes there is no such thing as Truth, I could
say that this discipline could be rephrased as “Stop Being Solipsistic”.

3. To learn how to think.

Creative thinking, thinking in a unprogrammed way. Throughout life, one
often adheres to thought process which is inclined with what they have
heard in the past. Throughout childhood, one is indoctrinated through
cultural norms, religion, school, and through pop culture. Often these
collective thought programs are erroneous, immoral, and are in fantasy.
Creative thinking is outside of those paradigms, which can allow for a
correct, moral, and a thought process that is true to reality.

4. To live in the present moment.

Often, it is easier to think about when times were better in life, or to
think about the future when things could be better. The hermetic path
seems to be quite arduous, and falling into these thought patterns may
take some difficulty to come out of.

5. To activate the physical body.

The author talks about a few different ways to activate the physical
body. These include eating the right food, doing a 10 minute breathing
exercise, and exercise. Personally, I enjoy running, and running has
been instrumental towards improving my health. I am currently
researching different food lifestyles. As for the breathing exercises, I
haven’t started to implement the breathing exercises just yet. I would
imagine it would bring similar benefit to “Wim Hof” breathing.

Remember there are only two mistakes one can take on the path to wisdom.
Not starting and not going all the way.

04 - Don't Kill The Golden Goose.

The Golden Goose Principle

This morning I whipped out my Stephen R. Covey Personal Workbook. The subject as developed around principles. The page made reference to the golden goose and the golden egg. The story goes:

The Hen and the Golden Eggs

“A COTTAGER and his wife had a Hen that laid a golden egg every day. They supposed that the Hen must contain a great lump of gold in its inside, and in order to get the gold they killed it. Having done so, they found to their surprise that the Hen differed in no respect from their other hens. The foolish pair, thus hoping to become rich all at once, deprived themselves of the gain of which they were assured day by day.”

Immediately after reading this, I recalled a “Better Call Saul” episode. The episode, Piñata, depicts a moment where the Aesop fable is in full effect. Jimmy is mugged by teenagers in his neighborhood. Jimmy proposes to these young men a business plan. Jimmy will give these delinquents slice of his profits every time he passes through the neighborhood. In this proposal, Jimmy is able to continue his business. Here is the episode scene discussed above:

Excerpt From Better Call Saul Pinata (Source) https://transcripts.foreverdreaming.org/viewtopic.php?t=34680

JIMMY: I come in peace.

I’m just just here to make a deal.

What kind of deal?

Look, fellas, we we got off on the wrong foot, okay?

I’m sure you saw me out here selling my wares, and you thought I was just some rube, out looking to score a quick buck and just begging to be rolled.

But, guys, I’m thinking long term.

I see a real need in this community for safe, affordable, untraceable phones, and I’m ready to fill it.

[SCOFFS]

Wah-wah-wah.

All right.

All right, straight talk.

[SIGHS]

I need to be able to sell my phones without worrying about getting ripped off.

I’m proposing if you let me sell my phones without hassle, I cut you in, say, 100 bucks every night that I’m out.

And that’s money for literally doing nothing.

[SIGHS]

Why wouldn’t we just take all of it?

[EXHALES SHARPLY]

‘Cause I’m talking consistent, reliable profits, you know?

Sure, you can rip me off again, take all that I’ve got, but then I stop selling, and you lose a valuable revenue stream.

[SIGHS]

Give me all you got now.

I’m trying to make money for all of us here.

Just work with me.

Give.

If you could just expand your thinking a little bit.

- [SWITCHBLADE CLICKS]

- You talk too much.

Since these teenagers take Jimmy for all he’s got, they effectively “killed the goose/hen”. Now, thankfully Jimmy had a plan b and took care of these children. Regardless, we can see this fable holding itself in this show. These teenagers obviously didn’t read the Aesop fable in regard to the golden egg principle.

Applied To Personal Life

We are able to use this principle towards every action we take throughout the day. Be on the lookout for your golden eggs and what produces them. For me, it’s running. I could stop running (kill the hen/goose), but then in effect, I would lose the health benefits of running (the golden eggs).

More Examples

1. Eating Salad = Health Benefits

2. Reading Books = Gained Knowledge

3. Family Time = Connection

4. Oil Change = Well Running Vehicle

5. Sleep = Energy

Covey describes this as production and production capability. I would go further and say that these are our causes and effects. Hen/Goose is the cause, and the golden egg is the effect. If we break or abolish our positive causes, we will loose the positive effects.

In addition, if we destroy our negative causes, we gain positive effects. We really must recognize these causes to do so, which sometimes can be the hard part.

Remember, there are only two mistakes one can make on the path to wisdom. Not starting and not going all the way.

Best,

05 - You Should Build a Zettelkasten

What is a Zettelkasten? Why should you build one?

Zettelkasten - ‘A Zettelkasten or card file consists of small items of information stored on Zetteln, paper slips or cards, that may be linked to each other through subject headings or other metadata such as numbers and tags.’

If you have ever gotten into writing notes on paper note cards or post it notes, you will recognize the struggle of organizing them all together. The goal of the Zettelkasten is to house a central location for all of the note-cards to be put. The ideas is that the cards can have numbers that link each post it note or note-card together in one place.

While larger paper management systems, like a filing cabinet are well known today, they don’t often offer flexibility with regards to quick and ease of access. The Zettelkasten breaks that barrier down, as a zettelkasten is the size of a shoe-box.

When I first found out about Zettelkasten, I instantly went downstairs, grabbed the closest shoe-box I could find, and began to fill it up with my notecards and post it notes.

What a Mess!

The Zettelkasten only solves one aspect of the note-card organization problem. The notecards are centralized into one location, and I can trust in knowing that my thoughts are protected in this spot. However, one must also take caution in placing new cards in the correct location. Without due diligence and constant vigilance, it would seem impossible and insurmountable to organize your note-cards.

My solution isn’t figured out yet, and part of this article was demonstrating to others how to solve the Zettelkasten organization dilemma, so I can solve it for myself. I currently use tags on each one of my note-cards. I will write two to three different tags on each card. My goal when putting each card away will be to put it in the general areas where they belong. This way, when I research a previous topic, I can just grab the area of cards and start reading through that section of note-cards.

How To Build A Zettelkasten

materials:

notecards
shoebox

Quite simply, grab your shoebox and fill it with notes you write. It is that simple. There are communities of people only trying different techniques to keep it organized, but this is for people who are far along the path and have a couple of shoeboxes already.

Remember, there are two mistakes one can make on the path to wisdom, not starting and not going all the way.

03 - The Triune Brain: Bunk or Based?

What is the Triune Brain?

The most common introductory lesson about the brain is the concept of the Triune Brain. The idea is that human beings have three separate layers in the brain that communicate together as one. That these layers formed throughout our evolution. The brain is described as having a reptilian base or R-Complex, Mammalian Brain or Limbic System, and Neo-Cortex. The R-Complex of the brain primarily describes behavior that is ritualistic and aggressive much like a reptile. Next, the mammalian brain, as mammals have emotions which allow mammals to bond with there young and create groups. Finally, the neocortex, which represents the addition to the human brain which allows for higher thought processes.

The model generalizes different areas of the brain, and applies them to other species who have similar behavioral tendencies. The R-Complex is primarily made up of the hind-brain region. This region includes the brain stem. The mammalian brain is made up of limbic system. The Neo-cortex is 90% of the Cerebrum, which means most of brain is highly unique for us.

Proven False?

Wikipedia states that the triune brain “was a once popular, now proven false, model of the evolution of the vertebrate forebrain and behavior”. It seems that this model has now been disproven. The main reason for this? Evolution. Scientists disagree that we evolved from a reptilian brain and mammalian brain, on the basis that some mammals existed before other reptiles. Also, that the brain has three different distinct regions. Scientists now say the brain is more complex than that. This stems from the fac some of the limbic brain functions could also be in the neocortex. That the limbic brain functions could be in the r-complex.

Arguments Shouldn’t Devalue The Model.

While discussing this model, we have to separate the research that leans on the side of the evolutionary aspect, and the aspect that discusses behavior. If a behavior mimics certain animals behavior that primarily happens through certain brain areas, than we can use the model to describe those processes.

While parts of the model are in fact outdated, like evolutionary aspect, that does not make the concept of the triune brain concept valueless. In fact, it can been seen as “throwing the baby out with the bathwater” so to speak. Separating the brain into three sections allow the layperson to understand the brain at a simple level. Obviously the brain is far more complex. Debunking the triune brain on these regards isn’t fair, and detracts from a big point of the model.

At some level, the debunking of the model creates a paradiagm where one set of people who have deeply studied the brain understand how it works, and now a set of people who are “no nothings” because they haven’t. People are going to understand the brain at different levels, and this is a great introductory lesson.

Learning what different parts exist in the brain, the different names used within the brain, the function of those parts contextualizes what the triune brain model was trying to tell us. While the evolutionary perspective, may be untrue, that shouldn’t debunk the whole model.

Think, Feel, Act

An abstract of the model can be seen with the phrase “Think, Feel, Act”. The statement promotes the idea that as one thinks, a feeling will arise, and than an action will take place. In fact, this is how we control ourselves. If we feel and act, without thinking, we could end up doing something dangerous for our health, or to other people.

Examples include but are not limited to: over-eating, getting into fights, or throwing fits. One could be out of balance because they may only think and act, without the ability to feel, a trait seen in psychopaths. Once we are able to focus our attention at the command center of the ship (our neocortex) we will be in control of proper decision making.

The Triune Brain Existed In Allegory

The knowledge of a human being having a threefold aspect has been known throughout history. The argument made is that the knowledge had to be placed into allegory due to the perceuction of having this knowledge. There is much power that comes from understanding how the brain works. It describes how we work. It describes how we may learn and grow, how we can control our emotions and actions. It can guide us to make proper decisions. It can allow us to learn from our mistakes. Improve our thinking.

The idea is that throughout history, our ancestors knew at some level that we had a threefold aspect to our consciousness. We can see this in different religious traditions. Let’s take a gander at Christianity.

Christianity

In Christianity, we hear of the “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” representing what God is. The Father could be describing the R-Complex. In the bible, we hear of the story of Mary giving birth to Jesus. “The Father” is the one who communicates with Mary and Mary gives birth to Jesus. The “Holy Spirit” represents the father communing with Mary.

Mary then gives birth to “higher consciousness” in the form of Jesus Christ.

This may or not be true. So far, I see it as the closer version of the truth than what any religion wants to describe it as. It makes a whole lot more sense than the abstract concept of the “Father, Son and Holy Spirit”. I remember the impossibility of wrapping my head around the threefold aspect of god. I know that the threefold aspect is actually within the self, through how the brain works, it makes more sense than what the christian tradition states.

Threefold Aspect In Culture

Boy Scouts: “Duty To God and Country”, “Duty to Others”, and “Duty to Self”

We could say that “Duty To God and Country” represents our higher level thought. Duty to “God” would duty to creation itself, which would also provide for the country. Think, Edison and the lightbulb. “Duty to Others” would totally be emotional side of our consciousness. We could say caring for others only exists when we activate this part in our brain. “Duty To Self” representing the R-Complex. While it is important to take care of the self, I would argue this aspect of our consciousness has “run a muck” so to speak in our current age.

The Hunger Games: Holding up three fingers is seen as an act of defiance. This is because the control system does not like it when people are thinking, feeling, and acting. If people did this, they would be in control of themselves and wouldn’t allow a panem police state.

Spongebob Squarepants: Patrick Star as R-Complex, Spongebob Squarepants as Paleo-Mammalian, and Sandy Cheeks as neo-cortex.

If anyone has watched Spongebob, they will know that Patrick Star is quite “dumb” and doesn’t care much at all. Only through Spongebob is he able to express how he feels. Spongebob represents emotion, he is a character full of emotions and very expressive. Sandy is highly intellectual.

Another thing to point out. Patrick is best friends with Spongebob, and Sandy is best friends with Spongebob. While Sandy and Patrick are friends, the bond with the central character spongebob ties a nice knot on the concept.

Harry Potter: Harry represents the R-Complex, Ron represents the mammalian brain, and Hermione represents the neo-cortex.

While Harry isn’t dumb per-say like Patrick Star, he expresses Action. Throughout the books and films he is always the one to finally lay down the line and fight, especially in the first few novels. Ron’s whole family is built upon emotion and feeling, caring for others, especially Harry.

Again, Harry is best friends with Ron, and Ron ends up marrying Hermione.

In Harry Potter, I see this concept to hold even more true when we look at the Malfoys. Slytherin is based upon individuals who are disconnected from there emotions as they are smart and cunning but lack emotion, like psychopaths.

These conceptual ideas help one to understand what the triune brain truly is, and explain how writers throughout time attempted to shine light through their allegory.

Why is this important?

In the world today, people don’t care for one another. People just don’t care! They may care about themselves or the family members around them. They may care about artifical dialectics designed by the control system to keep them in a thought prison (see: Dialectics Explained). Overall though, we lack global care in our world today. We deny the fact that the earth is one big family, that somehow we are vicious animals who lack the ability think, feel, and act to make the proper moral changes required for humanity to furish.

02 - People Are Addicted To Advertising

Advertising Is Literally An Addiction

I just finished cleaning up inventory, I received from cleaning out a abandoned house with my friend’s family.

I was given the task of listing items we found while clearing out the house. It was quite a fun day to clean out the house.

Anywho, I noticed a very interesting slogan on one of the cd’s I was cleaning.

The flyer states “INCLUDES addictive puzzle game: SEGA SWIRL”.

The first thing I noticed was the swirl. This is something I have picked up on recently, many product logos include swirls.

When I see a swirl in a product logo, the first thing I think of is the “mind control” swirl.

This is because I have come to understand advertising as mind control. During the last 2 years, I have taken a liking to advertising and propaganda. I have had life experiences that led to seeing advertising as mind control in my own life.

These experiences led me to the actual information about the way advertising works, which has cemented that understanding within me.

Now, do I think that the swirl is having an impact on the viewer? Yes, I do. Here is why I think this.

People relate “mind control” to the black and white swirl.

When People view the “swirl” the subconscious associates it with “mind control”.

At a subconscious level, us humans realize advertising is “mind control” so seeing the swirl reaffirms this.

Most humans WANT to be advertised to though. There is a common theme in hypnosis that the hypnotized individual would have to be okay with being hypnotized. We can see this in the average consumer.

Moving along, the term “addictive” was the second thing I noticed. I noticed this as I scanned the document to my computer.

While I would usually see this as a benign buzzword, I no longer see it this way. After dealing with addiction, and knowing people that have also suffered from addiction, I understand the advertising attack and subversive language being used.

Why would someone want to be addicted to something? It is that theme we see from drug addicts. The self deprecating humor we hear from alcoholics. The comedic undertone that they cloak over their suffering.

Addiction is never a good thing. It doesn’t matter if you are running, reading, saving the poor, protesting etc. That is still a bad thing. Addiction takes one thing and makes it the central focus of your life (or a few things)

So instead of living life to the fullest people are stuck doing the same repeative basal tasks. This cd-rom is actually even more disgusting once you realize that the adults that we see today are the children who played on this cd.

Those children were indoctronoated into gaming addiction because the parents in their lifes couldn’t care less about the activities they took part in. Any sensible adult would not allow a child to game 8+ hours a day.

This flyer implies that you would be playing for 8 hours a day.

Advertising Is Within Itself, an Addiction

I think my interest in advertising actually stemmed from the fact that I am highly attracted to the art of advertising. I am actually getting a kick off of viewing the advert. It even seems like I would rather look at an advert than study advertising itself.

This is because of the level of psychology tricks used with in advertising. The creators of advertisements are using highly advanced psychological techniques to get you to bond with a product, before one even buys the product.

Think about that. Millions of people around the world are bonding with products daily, when they aren’t even using the product.

Going back to what I was just saying, people around the world are thinking about a product or experience instead of actively using a product. This means that people are getting those “feel good” chemicals just from the advertisements within themselves.

Thanks For Reading,

01 - Go Grayscale.

I Went Grayscale On All My Devices Here Is Why…

About one month ago, I made the decision to put grayscale on all my devices. I have heard of people doing it before, but everyone I know who tried it out, disabled it after a few days. It was never something that stuck around in my inner circles.

This decision was made purposely to lessen the deep attachment I have to my computer, phone and ipad. I was hooked to Facebook and X.com in December, which also led to the decision to delete social media.

This time, instead of deactivating my Meta, Twitter, and YouTube accounts, I firmly decided to permanently delete access to the account.

Deleting Social Media

I noticed that everytime I “deactivated” one of my accounts, I would reactivate a few months later. This point is exemplary in the case of my old YouTube channel (if you know, you know).

No More Television, No More Movies, No More Games

In addition to both Social Media and Grayscale, I have said “No” to Television, Movies, and Games. My 56" flat screen tv in my bedroom was last used to read a book off of my computer (I have a poggers hdmi to tv setup).

Television - I would watch a ton of episodes of various shows that would just eat away at my time. I watched the ENTIRE Dexter Series in the fall and loved it (up until Season 4. Like seriously it gets bad after season 4, don’t listen to people on the Dexter subreddit, the rest of the show is just bad) which led me to binge random netflix shows like A.P. Bio, Loudermilk, and Monk in December. These television “plots” are delibrately drawn out so that it can fill in the TV block, take your attention, and sell you various products.

While Netflix thankfully doesn’t have ads yet, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, and HBO Max do. It’s a digusting practice, and it is just a waste of time.

Movies - While I could say that the occasional movie is alright, my boundaries have been quite strict. The last movie I watched was at the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, New York.

This museum showcased a documentary about this man’s stupendous life. Since this was at a museum and of the educational nature, watching this film was within my “ruleset”. I am learning more about history and my focus was fully on the screen.

I learned more about the Wright Brothers and other cool stuff. In the future, I would like to watch a movie if it was WORTH WATCHING. There are so SO many movies out there that just don’t need to be watched. (ahem, Captain America Brave New World)

I am trying to watch less movies, so the movies I watch will be more meaningful. I will probably only watch movies with other people. Again, the plot has to be worth watching. I want to watch something that will inspire me.

Gaming - I really got into playing on my Wii and Gamecube in December as well. While I have massive respect for the Zelda series, there is just no way I would be able to finish all of them. I played The Wind Waker in December and it took me all month. I didn’t use a guide since I wanted to do it myself. Gaming is just something I have been wired to do, and playing games all day or half of the day isn’t in the cards for me. Now, I was thinking about having some friends over for my birthday. Perhaps I will play Zelda again then, less focus on completing the plot but just playing for a couple hours during my birthday party. Stuff like that is acceptable. It has it’s time, and it has its place.

Party games are a great way to socialize but getting invested into these games is just not worth it. I already have my actual life to be invested in, and I already spent too many hours playing games in the past. It’s time to grow up.

Reading More

Since I went grayscale, instead of consuming YouTube videos or having the urge to view YouTube videos, I have been reading website blogposts. Perhaps part of the reason I have been reading and exploring the blogosphere is because I deleted social media.

I now no longer have a curated algorithm telling me what to watch, read, and repost. I have search engines to find blogs and then after that I am off to the races to explore on my own time, with my own mind. This must be something most don’t experience since social media is all curated feeds. Social Media is like being stuck on a train track, where exploring and surfing the web is like driving in a car. That is a good analogy.

Since grayscale is in effect, I don’t even have the urge to stay surfing on the web for long though. Below is a screentime graph before and after I used grayscale.

Now, I have been reading more books and using alternative methods of finding information.

I would say I replaced YouTube with Blogs, Facebook with Wikipedia and X.com with the Library. Blogs are great because I can hear what other people say on different subjects and not subject myself to persuasive language. I love hearing other people’s thoughts and ideas, but I grew up being swayed by cults of personality. Now, the only people who have influence of persuasion to that level are the people in my actual life. Which is a much healthier thing.

Ideas can now be processed by my own mind and I don’t have to worry about psychological techniques modern cult leaders use. Perhaps I will write a essay on this, but the modern world is chalk full of cults under the guise of “influencers” The influencer and follower dynamic is a cash machine.

When it comes to reading physical books, I use the library as a primary method of finding information. During the last two weeks I have been attending the library. I have been going through about a shelf a day, just to see what books the library has. I have discovered a few new favorites.

-History of Sex

-A Million Wicked Thoughts

-Buy Buy Baby

Beyond discovery, I have fostered quite the book collection over the past year. I failed to read these books due to the aforementioned social media use. Now that I have freed up my time to read, I have organized my books by the dewey decimal system.

I will skim books I own to get a generic idea of what the books is about. It would be pretty tough to read every book cover to cover, so I like this method. That way I can skim and find the books that have the most valuable information.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my new lifestyle shift may seem quite extreme. It is, but with the levels of investment and attachment I had to these activities wasn’t adding up to progress in my life. Extreme action must be took when one is falling behind in different aspects of their life.

I understand that many readers may be able to have a healthy relationship with these different methods of entertainment. This is perfectly okay. Even if you were to choose to spend more time than I would on different entertainment that is okay too. I am not here to make judgement on anyone’s life but my own. In the past, I feel like everytime I tried to make life changes I have been judged for being “too extreme”.

The thought that it’s “all about balance”. Well, that is a big big lie. What is “balance” anyways? “Balance” for Joe may be 1 movie a week. “Balance” for Mary may be 1 movie a day. It is totally anecdotal. Extremism isn’t “bad” and we have been led that being “extreme” equals “bad” it just isn’t.

Yes, people can do extreme things that HARM others and themselves. People can also do extreme things that BENEFIT others and themselves. One does not have to do with the other. We need to seperate these meanings.

Here is an example. If someone is constantly drinking alcohol and they take a “extreme” life change and go sober, is that bad? One may say “Well, that’s different” But how and why is it different? That point doesn’t logically follow. I feel that using these entertainment methods harm my life more than they benefit my life. Extremely adjusting my tech usage will be beneficial for my life. End of story. As someone once said “Don’t Judge My Path If You Haven’t Walked My Journey”.

I have judged others in the past, I must admit. Since I don’t want to be judged for my new tech habits, I will add another quote “Do onto others as you would want done upon yourself.”

In the end, the purpose of this article is to get you thinking about the way you spend YOUR time. I am not judging anyone but myself. We can make our own judgements and assessments of the way we live our life. I know it is difficult sometimes. If we all did this the world would be a betterplace.

UPDATE 02/11/2025

In my last post, I discussed grayscale and it’s implications it had on my life. While successful, it seems after posting, I went back to my ways.

Last weekend, I watched YouTube, listened to podcasts, watched Harry Potter. I occasionally turned of grayscale.

As I type, I am currently using grayscale, although, a few occasions I went back.

I am concerned that my focus on grayscale or not is an over emphasis, detracting from the more important things in my life, like building my organizations.

I don’t think my previous blogpost was wrong, but I do think that flexibility is required as I proceed in my affairs.

I am about to enjoy the oboe, bassoon, and horn.

Have a great night.

Some people are often ignored, others deemed controversial, and some are celebrated by certain groups. The mission is simple: to read, research, and explore these people regardless of preconceived opinions or biases. By doing so, we can uncover new perspectives, challenge our beliefs, and engage in deeper, more meaningful conversations.
